Ramon Chirinos is a Venezuelan artist born in Falcon and studied mathematics and physics. His academic formation led him towards the path of teaching. However, since very early in age, he knew he wanted to paint. At the beginning, during brief moments stolen from his daily responsibilities as a teacher, while he painted he knew he needed to be free to explore the canvas and create paintings. He needed to experience and discover the possibilities that the canvas will bring. That is how he was able to quit teaching and become a full-time artist. Chirinos humbly says, “I trust the paint and it will take me where it wants to go”. To us, if the paint could talk, it would say: I trust you Ramon, your creativity and experienced hands will take me where you want to go.

Chirino’s paintings have a distinctive touch and style. From his early figurative paintings to his current abstract collection, they represent an explosion of colors, forms and lines. We can distinguish the strokes of his brush and the mood of his gentle creations. His steady sense of calm, the invitation to look at the painting and yet to complete the visual process with a deeper perception that involves both mind and spirit. It is a magical process that we are lucky to witness, the discipline and the poetic expression in which, even the grey tones are full of color and movement.

His paintings reflect the balance and planning of a mathematics and yet the creativity, movement and the stories created by the artist in complete balance and harmony.
