Neptali Valero
Sculptor
Neptaly Valero was born in San Cristobal, Venezuela and moved to Caracas to study figurative sculpting in bronze and resin with the maestro Elias Toro.
In the development of his representations we can perceive what he wants to transmit through his sculptures. The pieces represent the everyday life, his sculptures are calm and have concise concepts and they transmit conciliation, relaxation, peace and enjoyment. Each piece reflects not only what he sees but also what he feels.
He understands that in the election of a pose and its development, while molding the piece, he is making eternal his conception and he is very careful as to what he wants to convey with his beautiful pieces. His creative process defines the style and the personal touch that uses to modify the reality, perhaps changing what he sees and providing curvy and exuberant figures that invite us to take them home. His personal touch allows each piece to transmit what the artist feels. Each sculpture is also the disfiguration of the reality, Valero not only enhances the way women are represented but also, the way she will be perceived and appreciated.
For Neptaly his need to transform is vital to the process to reveal in each sculpture the way to trap the contour, form and volume and define it as something beautiful to be takes as it is, in its entirety and with no conditions. This is how the Artist teaches us to embrace the beauty, in spite of the world around us, where women’s beauty is defined by elongated bodies that attempt to leave out the beauty of those who have decided to go against the standards.
